Special Episode: Opening Day at Hammerstein Brewing

Shortly before opening, we had a chance to sit down with some of the crew at Hammerstein Brewing Company in Largo, FL. Yesterday August 29th, 2019 was opening day for this brewery and we wanted to share their story with. Currently they do not yet have their own beer on tap. However, you can still support them and other local breweries by stopping by for a pint or two. We look forward to the day when their beer and food is ready to go.

Hammerstein Brewing features a 7 BBL brewing system managed by Travis and an outdoor Food Truck managed by Rob. In the near future, you can expect to enjoy food with a touch of German flair, and beers like their Honey Dunkel, Hazy IPA, and traditional Stout. Among their 20 plus taps, you will see a constant rotation of local beer, guest taps, cider, and wine.

On opening night we were able to enjoy sitting inside with a local guitarist singing some tunes. Meanwhile outside was packed with people playing games and enjoying a conversation. This is something the area of Largo needed. The Tampa Bay area is filled with many breweries. Yet, for those in the Clearwater/Largo/Seminole vicinity, there are not many local brewery stops. Probably the closest two would be Clearwater Brewing and Arkane Aleworks. Hopefully, we will see this community grow and become a staple in the beer scene.
